Exodus Web3 Wallet — Quick Login & Security Guide
Short, practical steps to unlock, restore, and secure your Exodus wallet for everyday Web3 activity.
Login & Restore
Exodus uses an app password and a recovery phrase. There’s no central username — "login" means unlocking the local app (desktop or mobile) with your password or restoring using the recovery phrase on a new device.
Steps to create or restore
- Download Exodus from the official site and install the app.
- Create a wallet and set a strong password. Write the recovery phrase down—offline.
- To restore: choose "Restore Wallet", enter your recovery phrase verbatim and set a new password.
Connecting to dApps
Use WalletConnect or the built-in dApp browser to connect. Approve only verified sites and double-check addresses and amounts before signing any transaction.
Advanced tips
- Pair a hardware wallet for offline key storage.
- Export transaction history for taxes via the app.
- Revoke dangerous approvals via Etherscan / token approval tools if needed.
